    Description

    The Block Mothers is a local organization with 10,000 members. They are putting plans into motion to organize their neighborhoods before additional rationing programs go into effect. The first step of the plan involved electing majors to lead the chapter. Being sworn in, left to right, are Mrs. Herman Cox, Mrs. Horace Wood, Mrs. Joe W. Harris, Mrs. G. H. Follett, Mrs. James Flynn, Mrs. Fred H. Bush, and Mrs. W. S. Curlee. Mrs. Cox is wearing a dark blouse, checkered skirt and a coat. Mrs. Wood is wearing a floral print dress. Mrs. Harris is wearing a paisley print dress and a fur scarf. Mrs. Follett is wearing a checkered dress. Mrs. Flynn, Mrs. Bush and Mrs. Curlee are wearing solid-color dresses of varying shades.
