    Shown here is a copy of photo of the Witt and Spikes General Merchandise Store, Crosby County, Texas. This is one of the two pioneer establishments of Crosby County. In front of the store are some people sitting and standing at the entrance. Mr. John M. Witt died in 1927, and Mrs. Witt lives in Lubbock. This old picture belongs to her daughter, Mrs. J. J. Spikes of Floydada. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, November 29, 1942.
