    Ben Fleming (right) handing check to Captain R. E. Dysart. "A 'rubber' check that was welcome is this one for $470.60 which Ben Fleming, chairman of the recent scrap rubber drive, is shown presenting to Captain R. E. Dysart, director of enlistment and training for the Civilian Defense Council. The check represents part of the proceeds from the rubber campaign, conducted for the benefit of the council program." Mr. Fleming and Captain Dysart are looking directly at each other as Mr. Fleming is handing over the check.
