Description
Pile of scrap rubber collected for the scrap rubber campaign being driven by President Roosevelt. "Typical of the scrap rubber piles that sprouted up in front of nearly every service station in Fort Worth and Tarrant County Monday is this one, which included in its makeup: Tires for automobiles and bicycles, a girdle, an old rubber doll, tennis shoes, galoshes, rubber boots, an old rubber slicker, tricycle handle grips, golf balls, a hot water bottle, a syringe, and a dish scraper. These old rubber goods, which will be reclaimed, are one of the main sources of supply that will keep the United States' wheels rolling."
