Description
Christmas Is When it's Most Convenient: Jake Smith is a Yeoman in the U. S. Navy. His parents promised a Christmas tree when he came home on leave, no matter what the calendar said. Smith, who was aboard the aircraft carrier Lexington, lost in the Coral Sea, came home Monday and found it bedecked with his favorite decorations. He is shown returning home, with him here is Toy, his dog. Toy is sitting on his hind legs, wearing a halter and a leash. Yeoman Smith is dressed in his navy uniform. There is decorated Christmas tree in the room. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, June 16, 1942.
