Poolville citizens gathering in dedication of granite memorial being erected in honor of Doctor William J. Sparks. "A granite memorial was dedicated Sunday at Poolville to the late Dr. William J. Sparks. Left to right, in foreground, Mrs. Gladys Waters of Arlington, a daughter of the late physician; Orville Bullington, Wichita Falls attorney and donor of the shaft, Texas; Mrs. Marietta Sparks, the doctor's widow; W. B. Sparks of El Reno, Oklahoma, a son; Miss Flora Vida Sparks, another daughter; Doctor R. H. Gough, Fort Worth, Texas, who gave the dedicatory address; and J. W. McConnell of Poolville, president of the Poolville Cemetery Association." The crowd is paying respects, standing in a half-circle cradling the monument. Several members of the crowd are looking somberly at the memorial.
