George W. Faris inspecting an American Red Cross donation poster. "George W. Faris, father of three sons in the navy, inspects one of the colored posters which went up in the department stores and other public places Thursday to remind the city of the MacArthur Club's campaign to aid prisoners of war in the Philippines and elsewhere. The posters were made by Talmage Wilson and Cecil Price. Mrs. Marshall H. Kennady, chairman of arrangements for MacArthur Day Saturday, placed them on display. Saturday, 100 young women will be posted on downtown corners to sell MacArthur buttons. Proceeds will be turned over to the committee at Geneva, Switzerland, for providing aid to the prisoners of war." Mr. Faris is wearing a double-breasted suit, a striped undershirt, and a tie. He is standing to the side of a and observing a poster, he is seen in profile. Various other small appliances and pieces of office equipment fill the scene, including an office chair, a cabinet, a telephone, file dividers, a calendar, stamps, what appears to be a cash register, a fan, and more.
