Description

Riverside Civic League. W. M. Eagle, left, and J. B. Baker, riding in buggy. "Two charter members of the Riverside Civic League, each 80 years old, discuss horse and buggy days of the section while seated in Ray Crowder's buggy. They are W. M. Eagle, left, uncle of Councilman George Eagle, and J. B. Baker, who was the first president of the league which is holding its "Old Timers Jubilee" Friday afternoon and night". Both gentlemen are seated in a buggy that is facing to the right with a light colored horse attached. Mr. Eagle is sitting on the right side of the buggy and is holding a carriage driving whip in his right hand and the reins in his left hand. He is wearing a dark suit, a bow tie, dark shoes, a light hat, and is facing towards the horse in front of him. Mr. Baker is located to his left in the carriage. He is wearing a lighter colored suit, a vest underneath, a tie, and a light colored hat. He is facing away from the camera. The carriage sits in a dirt field that has some puddles on the ground and some farm equipment in the background. The carriage has four large wheels, a sitting area that can occupy two, and a retractable roof. The horse that is attached to the carriage is wearing blinders and is at the edge of a puddle. In the background you can see trees and wire fences with wooden posts.
