Description
Army Day Easter celebration and exhibition at Farrington Field, F. Company D of the 155th Infantry may be short on some things, but not mascots. The mascots and their owners are pictured here. They are, from left to right, Sergeant (Sergt.) George Bennett holding Midnight, a dog; Sergeant (Sergt.) Fred H. Avery with Dooley, the squirrel, and Corporal (Corp.) Talmadge Griffith with Blackout, a dog. Blackout is a real veteran who made the maneuvers with the 31st Division in both Louisiana and South Carolina. All personnel are dressed in uniforms. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, April 6, 1942.
