Description
Soldiers at Camp Bowie now find recreation in one of the finest recreation centers in the country. It's Brownwood's new $69,000 United Service Organization (U. S. O.) Club recently completed and dedicated amid gay festivities. Soldiers danced, played games, sang and ate with girls. Some dancers are pictured here. They are, from left to right, Miss Jacque Mabry; Sergeant (Sgt.) Paul W. Stephani, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Miss Katherene Riddle; Private (Pvt.) Carey Richard, Hollywood, California; Miss Louise Koch, Miss Elouise Hopson and Private (Pvt.) Louie C. Logsdon, Berea, Kentucky. The women are wearing gowns while the men are wearing their military uniforms. The dancers paused for a snack at the bar. They are engaged in conversation, smiling and some of them are holding bottles of soda. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, March 15, 1942.
