Description
The 1942 Golden Gloves State Tournament is being held at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas. Facing off in the heavyweight semifinals, left to right are Sergeant Bennie Brast and Gilbert Stromquist. Sergeant Brast is from Fort Sam Houston. Stromquist is the six-feet-eight-inch boxer from Austin, Texas. Down, but not out, Stromquist is shown with his knees on the mat. Stromquist's long arms are fending off another attack as he attempts a comeback. Stromquist went on to win the decision and will bid for the championship.
