The 1942 Golden Gloves State Tournament is being held at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas. Competing in the welterweight division is Danny Drumbeater, a soldier from Camp Barkeley. Forty-seconds into the bout, Eddie Russey connected on a booming punch. Drumbeater crashed to the floor and is shown lying face first on the mat with a bloody nose. Russey is standing in the background, behind the referee.
