Description

Reserve Officers' Training Corps (R. O. T. C.) sponsors manifested as much curiosity as the cadets at a demonstration of infantry equipment at Jennings Avenue Junior High School by a special unit of the 36th Division. Shown here is a machine gun demonstration by Sergeant (Sergt.) Boyd B. Jackson. It is a heavy machine gun mounted on an armored scout car. Watching the demonstration are the four sponsors, left to right, Junene Doak and Bettye June Thompson, Paschal High School, and Betty Vickers and Sarah Nell Brookshire, Polytechnic High. All are dressed in uniforms. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, February 4, 1942.
