Description

Junior Woman's Club members in Fort Worth are active in civilian defense projects. Some members are working for the Red Cross. How to make beds for the injured is part of the home nursing requirement. Shown here are Mrs. H. A. Pickens, left, and Mrs. E. G. Surgeon, who are enrolled in the home nursing class of the Junior Woman's Club. They are standing beside a bed and adjusting the pillows and the bed sheets. Mrs. Pickens is wearing a belted, long-sleeved dress with a bracelet around her wrist. Mrs. Surgeon is wearing a dark jacket and skirt ensemble. They are smiling while practicing making the bed. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, February 18, 1942.
