Description
The 1942 Golden Gloves District Tournament is being held at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas. Facing off in the ring for the welterweight title, left to right, are Sam Bates and Robert Ballew. Bates is shown banging out punches in close quarters. Ballew is crouching over and is tied up. Bates went on to win the match. He will move on to represent Fort Worth, Texas, in the state tournament.
