Amateur boxers from all around the area are preparing for the 1942 Golden Gloves District Tournament in Fort Worth, Texas. One of the top contenders in the heavyweight division is Jack Russell. He was an all-conference end at Baylor University and has been working out with other members of the Texas Steel Company team. He is shown climbing through the ropes and into the ring to spar.
