Cachet created by Fleetwood Cover Services commemorating the United States declaration of war against Japan. The cover was mailed at 1 p. m. on December 8, after President Roosevelt had asked Congress to vote the war resolution. The text reads: At dawn Sunday, December 7th, 1941 Japan, without warning, bombed Hawaii, killing over 1,500 United States citizens. Monday, December 8, 1941, President Roosevelt declared a "State of War Exists" between the United States and Japan. Unity, Devotion, Toil will bring Victory.
