Description
The banquet by the residents of River Oaks Village was held at Castleberry School. Banquet attendee George P. Gleeson (left) is swearing in R. W. Weatherford, railway engineer, as village alderman. The two men are shown standing across from each other as they both raise their right hands. Between the two is a microphone and Mr. Gleeson holding up a sheet of paper for the swearing in. Mr. Gleeson is wearing a striped suit of a lighter shade while Mr. Weatherford is wearing a dark three-piece suit. Both are also wearing eyeglasses. Further behind them is a cut out of Uncle Sam holding up a sign that says "Educate for Defense." Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, January 18, 1942.
