Description
Walter A. Ullrich who has been named secretary of the Fordham Club, Texas, is pictured here. He is the former Fordham football and boxing star. He is now living in Fort Worth. As an engineer he came here in connection with work at the bomber plan 1. He is shown wearing a jacket and tie, holding a smoking pipe and standing against a wall. He was a halfback on the Fordham football teams of 1924 and 1925, and in the latter year he was captain of the boxing team. He took part in Golden Gloves and in 1928 was runner-up to George Hoffman as the national light-heavyweight champion in Olympic team trials. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, January 15, 1942.
