Description

Amateur boxers from all around the area are preparing for the 1942 Golden Gloves District Tournament in Fort Worth, Texas. Students from Allen Academy are competing in the tournament. They are, left to right, Dick Menchaca, Coach Angus Stocking, Mitchell Dorsey, Leonard Leudtke, Weldon Wyatt, and Alvin Ellison. Coach Stocking is dressed in a suit while the boys are wearing their uniforms. Menchaca is a two-time national bantam champion, but will now compete as a featherweight.
