Tom M. Girdler, board chairman of Vultee Aircraft, Incorporated, and Consolidated Aircraft Corporation. "In a new role as plane maker, Tom M. Girdler, recently-elected board chairman of Vultee Aircraft, Inc., and Consolidated Aircraft Corporation, will inspect the Lake Worth bomber plant Friday. Previously he has been best known as chairman of Republic Steel Corporation. He is shown here after settling a Shady Oak hat on his head at the Fort Worth Club." Mr. Girdler is wearing a double-breasted and striped three-piece suit, along with a light-colored button-up shirt, a tie, and a Shady Oak hat.
