He'll See That the President Gets Those Extra Warplanes. Tom M. Girdler, board chairman of Vultee Aircraft, Incorporated, and Consolidated Aircraft Corporation. "The President wants more planes. He's going to get them, that's all. I'm going to be as helpful as I can." Mr. Girdler is shown seated, wearing a double-breasted and striped three-piece suit, along with a light-colored button-up shirt and a tie. He is sitting in an armchair with his arms stretched out beside him, gazing off into the distance. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram Evening Edition January 9, 1942.
