He'll See That the President Gets Those Extra Warplanes. Tom M. Girdler, board chairman of Vultee Aircraft, Incorporated, and Consolidated Aircraft Corporation. "The President wants more planes. He's going to get them, that's all. I'm going to be as helpful as I can." Mr. Girdler is shown seated, wearing a double-breasted and striped three-piece suit, along with a light-colored button-up shirt and a tie. He is peering down at his hand, which is making a gesture away from the arm of the chair. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram Evening Edition January 9, 1942.
