Description
Knitting toddler sets for the babies of Britain, sweaters and caps for the men of the United States Army and Navy, are there girls of the Polytechnic Rainbow assembly. Left to right, (front) Mary Loraine Williams, Jerry Beckelman and Joy Moore; (back) Nada Greene, Virginia Thaxton and June Miller. In the back row, June is showing off a small sweater to Virginia and Nada, who are laughing and smiling, respectively. In the front row, each of the young women is busy either sewing or knitting. There is a large piece of packing paper lying at their feet. On top of this paper there are a couple of balls of yarn, a few skeins of yarn, a handful of blankets, and a couple of toddler sets. There are also some strings lying near Joy's feet. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, January 6, 1942.
