Description
The blanket of white that covered almost everything Saturday morning was like a message from home for the Henry Whitts at 1535 Pulaski Street. They came here two weeks ago from Champaign, Illinois. Whitt, a sheet metal worker, is employed at the Lake Worth bomber assembly plant. Mrs. Whitt and Henry Junior, 14, are shown by their car. Mrs. Whitt and young Henry are smiling and looking at their car which is covered in snow. Mrs. Whitt is pointing to a message declaring "Hello Texas" drawn by finger in all capital letters in the snow. Just below the message is a 1941 Illinois license plate reading "1555 119". Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, January 3, 1942.
