Description

New Year's Prayer Day, proclaimed by President Roosevelt, was observed at Fort Worth churches Thursday. This was the the scene from the prayer service at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church. Shown are a group of 12 women kneeling in front of altar, praying. The women are wearing overcoats, furs, and hats. The alter has candles and flowers (Poinsettias and other flowers) on it. A large statue of Saint Mary is centered behind the alter. A statue of another saint can be seen to the right of the altar. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram Evening Edition January 01, 1942.
