Description
Three hundred and seventeen soldiers ranked with the general at Camp Bowie Saturday as the all-Texas 36th Division marched in review as climax to its three days of training tests. The review was in honor of the winning soldiers in 55 contests which tried the military skills acquired by the division in its year of training. Only the enlisted men, the best from each regiment, competed in the various events. Three enlisted soldiers ranked with General Walker are pictured here. From left to right, are Brigadier General (Brig. Gen.) Robert O. Whiteaker, , Brigadier General (Brig. Gen.) Preston A. Weatherred, General Walker and Sergeant (Sergt.) Jack A. Jamieson. Sergeant (Sergt.) Jamieson, Kingsville, Texas, received the best position for the review. The officers are dressed in uniforms and standing at a salute. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, December 21, 1941.
