Description
Beta Alpha Rho, Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) business girls club is celebrating annual bosses' banquet. The girls passed out cigars, staged a "Melodrammer" and sang the old songs to entertain their guests. A middle of the scene is pictured here. A group of women are shown up on a stage, dressed in costumes. A couple of the women are dressed up as men in suits with fake mustaches while the other performers are wearing long-sleeved dresses and head coverings. They are, from left to right, the hero, Virginia Stoddard; the heroine, Pet Patrick; the villain, Ruth Cohen; Ma, Ina Mae Johnson; detek-a-tif, Mildred Toliver, and woman of mystery, Faye Chiles. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, December 28, 1941.
