Description
A merry-eyed Fort Worth girl was off on an exciting 4,000 mile journey to Honolulu, where she will marry her childhood sweetheart, a member of the air corps. Miss Marion Hale, 20, quit her department store job this week, kissed her parents and her sister goodbye and left Wednesday night by bus for the West Coast. Her boat sails this weekend. She will wed Leo Nugent, about 22, grandson of a Spur contractor and now a draftsman with the air corps. They both went to grammar school and high school at Spur, graduating together in the class of 1939. The trip by bus and boat will require about 12 days and the wedding will take place soon after her arrival. The couple will make their home in Honolulu. In this picture, Miss Marion Hale is shown standing in front of a wall and a radiator. She is wearing a striped, buttoned jacket and a matching skirt. She is also wearing a brimmed hat. She is smiling widely for the camera. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, November 27, 1941.
