Description
Soldiers of the 142nd Infantry, 36th Division pitched a camp for 3,000 men just west of Fort Worth Sunday afternoon for an Armistice Day Celebration. Shown here is Private Gene V. Rhodes, Company I, 142nd Infantry, Eastland, Texas, bugler. At 6:30 a.m. Monday he performed the reveille to arouse the 3,000 soldiers of the 36th Division encamped on Benbrook Highway west of Camp Bowie Boulevard. The temperature was 36 degrees. Here he is seen in a field with his bugle pressed to his lips. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram November 10, 1941.
