Description
The Southern Methodist University Mustangs are hosting the University of Texas Longhorns at Ownby Stadium in Dallas, Texas. Fine passing and great running makes the Longhorns the most dangerous offensive team of the 1941 season. The Longhorns' opening drive was a good example of their high-powered offense. Pete Layden (31) dropped back to the Mustang thirty-nine yard line and fired a pass to back Jack Crain (44), who slipped behind the Mustang defenders. Crain took the ball twenty-four yards and the Longhorns scored the first touchdown, two plays later. They went on to beat the Mustangs 34-0.
