Description
This map includes the path of 38 comets that were studied and obeserved from 1530 to 1740 which also included with the discovery of new stars appearing in the southern celestial hemisphere. The "new stars" are those of 1596 (discovery of the variable star Mira by David Fabritius) and 1704 (discovery of the variable star R Hydrae by Jacques-Philippe Maraldi).
