Description
This map was published by the International and Great Northern Railroad Company in 1878, and is part of an advertisement titled “Homes in Texas.” This advertisement was intended to encourage people to visit and settle in Texas. At a time when Texas law no longer permitted the state to use state funding to promote Texas, railroads published advertisements that were intended to draw people to the state.
