Description
The 2026 World Cup was a historic occasion for the DFW Metroplex. UTA Special Collections created an open access community collection to document the fan experience – from games to watch parties and everything in between. Evan Spencer, Outreach & Instruction Archivist, and Kathryn Slover, Digital Archivist, will discuss collecting and preserving materials from the community for the community. This collecting initiative not only captures an important moment in time – it creates open access to the stories and experiences of soccer fans from across the Metroplex and beyond. Breakfast will be provided for in-person attendees.
