Open Access Week is an international event celebrated by libraries and universities around the world. UTA Libraries joins them every October with a series of presentations, panel discussions, workshops, and information sessions on the whys and hows of Open Access. It’s important to support Open Access for a number or reasons, including: Broadening the awareness of free, immediate, online availability of research publications and datasets. Ensuring that anyone can access these results—to turn ideas into industries and breakthroughs into better lives. Increasing the communication of research that fully utilizes the Internet for what it was originally built to do—accelerate research. As part of our commitment to increasing open access to research, the UTA Libraries offers services such as Mavs open press publishing services , UTA CARES grant program, and UTA ResearchCommons.
