    Photograph on page 85 of book Transitions by Gerald Saxon; first African-American student accepted to Arlington State College, 1962. The caption reads "Accepting African-American students for the first time in 1962, ASC became the first integrated college in the Texas A&M system. According to the 1963 'Reveille' [yearbook], 'ASC witnessed a peaceful integration which produced no display of prejudice among students or faculty."
