Description
Peyton Packing Company workers on strike underneath a tent used for shade after company management cut down a mesquite shade tree that picketers would use for shielding themselves from the sun. The strike involved Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butcher Workmen from Peyton Packing Company in an attempt to organize the plant. The strikers are sitting and standing under a tent. They all are wearing hats and "on strike" signs around their necks. One person has a sign in Spanish with the words "En Huelga". Two seated men are drinking from cups.
