Description

A B-52H is seen from the bombardier's position in the front of a B-36 Liberator at Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base, Carswell Field. Hanging from a mounted gun are 50-caliber belt-fed machine gun shells. The B-36 was the first bomber built in Fort Worth and used at Carswell, while the B-52 was the last bomber built in the city and used at Carswell while it was an Air Force base. The B-36 took eight months to restore and will be flown for the first time at an upcoming air show in Oklahoma.
