Description

A march of Ku Klux Klan members, led by Grand Dragon Charles Lee, in downtown Dallas, Texas on July 16, 1983. Anti-Klan protesters are seen behind street barricades holding a banner with "to the Klan" written underneath a depiction of a skull and bones. About 60 Klansmen were protected by 550 Dallas police officers as the group marched along Main Street in downtown Dallas. As Klan members, most of them from the Houston area, made their way down the street, KKK Grand Dragon Charles Lee shouted "Close our borders" to the crowd. The crowds responded by chanting "Death to the Klan."
