Description
Helen Wallis Hannah, standing in front of stained glass windows dedicated to her family at the historic Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church at 116 Elm Street in Fort Worth. The church began assembling in Fort Worth in 1870 and the church building was completed in 1914. Allen Chapel is the oldest and largest African Methodist Episcopal church in Fort Worth. Mrs. Hannah's family has been involved with the church for generations, the set of three stained glass windows pictured are inscribed with the names of her family members: Dr. and Mrs. N. T. Wallis, Mr. and Mrs. O. M. Sims, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Maddox, Charles Oscar Wallis, Clotee Wallis, and her own name, Helen Wallis.
