Image shows ROTC students at The University of Texas at Arlington participating in water survival and confidence test. 100 military science students went through exercises at UTA outdoor pool. Blindfolded cadets with uniforms and web gear walked off a 15 foot high platform. Then they swim 15 meters with web gear and weapons then abandon the gear for a 50 meter swim while clothed. Lastly, they climb a 40 ft tower for the slide for life where they rappel or slide with a rope across a 100 meter pool. Unidentified student, is shown swimming underwater in web gear and gun in UTA swimming pool. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition April 29, 1981.
