Image shows Gerald Saxon, assistant director for special collections at UTA, looking over some of the maps from the Mayborn collection. He found in Ted and Helen Mayborn's house in Granbury a file cabinet full of 19th century Texas history; lithographs, maps, rare books, Davy Crockett's 1834 autobiography, letters, mortgage bonds issued in 1866 by Santa Anna and newspapers, engraved prints from Harper's Weekly. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition September 29, 1990.
