Description

Dignitaries were plentiful at the ribbon cutting dedication on January 10, 1974 of the Federal Aviation Administration traffic control tower at the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport. They are, from left to right, Fort Worth Mayor R. M. Stovall, U.S. Representative Dale Milford, Dallas Mayor Wes Wise, FAA Administrator Alexander Butterfield, Airport Board Chairman J. Erik Jonsson, former FAA Administrator William F. McKee, Southwest Region FAA Director Henry L. Newman, Board Vice Chairman J. Lee Johnson III, and U.S. Representative Alan Steelman. The airport is set to formally open on January 13, 1974.
