Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Johnson Fortson are pictured at the Kimbell Art Museum’s "party in the park," the first of three invitational events to celebrate the opening of the museum. They are seen standing in the broad plaza between vaulted rows of arches, where Ran Wilde and his orchestra played for dancing. Mrs. Fortson is the former Miss Kay Kimbell Carter, niece of Kay Kimbell, whose collection began the Kimbell Art Museum.
