Description
Ku Klux Klan (KKK) rally two miles south of Euless, Texas on June 16, 1979. Knights of the Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke is seen with his hand raised towards a burning cross. More than 200 people attended the four-hour gathering. Speeches were made by Grand Wizard Duke and Knights of the Ku Klux Klan Grand Titan (district leader) Lewis Beam. At the conclusion of their speeches, 18 white-robed Klansmen stood in a circle performing a salute with lighted torches. They then tossed the burning torches at the base of a giant cross wrapped in kerosene-soaked burlap, igniting the cross.
