Lucille Bishop Smith was among several of Fort Worth's Black leaders to be honored by the Tarrant County Black Historical and Genealogical Society at the Martin Luther King Center in Fort Worth as part of Black History Week events. Smith, who taught vocational education in the Fort Worth Public School system for 45 years, was honored with the title "An Emancipated Woman."
