Description
Image shows the exterior of The Discovery '76 energy house at UTA. The house has 42 solar collectors atop its flat roof to catch sunlight and turn it into energy. The house uses twice as much insulation and windows are insulated with double glazed panes to reduce heat transfer. The residence was recently completed as a joint project of the construction research center. The experiment is in using the sun as a principal source of energy for space, heating, air conditioning and hot water. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition February 11, 1976.
