Description
An unidentified student at Southern Methodist University (SMU) gives the Black Power salute as he steps from the administration building after a five hour discussion with SMU officials. Black students at SMU met with university officials to discuss recent demands made by the Black League of Afro-American and African College Students (BLAACS). The group was led by Mike Morris, a former SMU student. A crowd gathered outside of the administration building, with as high as 1,200 people, which reportedly included some organizers from the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee and Students for a Democratic Society groups.
