Description
A six-passenger, twin-engine private plane lies in a gully about 50 yards from the end of Meacham Field's northwest-southeast runway where it came to an uneasy halt. The plane skidded sideways off the end of the runway and None of the three passengers aboard nor pilot Herbert Van Der Vliet was injured in this mishap. The plane was a De Havilland Dove owned by Fort Worth oil man J. Lloyd Patton. Damage to the plane included a twisted fuselage, bent left wing, and twisted landing gear.
