Miss Texas of 1966, Susan Kay Logan, at microphone (right) prepared for the climax of the preliminary competition in the Miss Texas Pageant as she took the envelopes containing winners' names from Mistress of Ceremonies Sharon Kay Ritchie. Miss Denton, Ann Estelle Patterson, won in the talent competition with an oboe performance, and Miss West Texas, Martha Lon Whiddon, captured swim suit honors. Fort Worth Star-Telegram Evening edition July 28, 1967.
